This collection of more than 200 photographs by Darius Kinsey, taken between 1890 and 1925, depict logging in the Pacific Northwest of America. Shown in sharp detail are the first axes, 12 foot crosscut saws, the first oxen and horses and the first donkey engines. The pictures then move on to show the high production period of steel tower skidders and miles of steel rigging. Ralph Andrews' research of this logging country brings a factual text to explain Kinsey's photographs.
